Lori Smith C-IAYT, TIYT, E-RYT 500
Lori draws from her medical background and the healing modalities of the Yogic and Ayurvedic traditions to formulate a practice consisting of a unique blend of tools which support the well being of each practitioner. Lori is particularly competent in refining these tools to be therapeutic for clients working with diminished mobility, physiological or mental conditions, as well as those with terminal situations. She has taught yoga in the studio setting across the Albuquerque area for 7 years. Lori has also designed and implemented multiple group yoga programs for target populations such as elementary students, underprivileged youth, cardiovascular clients, Veterans, elderly students and Post Traumatic Stress.
Lori completed the 800 hour Professional Yoga Therapist Training through Integrative Yoga Therapy in 2015. She has also completed specialized trainings in Functional Yoga Therapy, is a certified Trauma Informed Yoga Instructor, and a certified Children’s Yoga Instructor. Lori is the owner of Well Within Yoga School, an Integrative Yoga Therapy Affiliate.
Ashley Serrao C-IAYt, RYT 500
Ashley as over 1,200 hours of training and has been teaching for almost a decade. She is an E-RYT200 Hatha yoga teacher, a RYT500 ViniyogaTM teacher and a ViniyogaTM Therapist. Ashley has extensive experience working with those with special conditions of the body or mind. She facilitates a safe and supportive environment where students are encouraged to adapt the yoga practice for their unique condition in order to create freedom in the body, fluidity in the breath and ultimately liberation of the mind. She teaches clear, concise, safely sequenced classes with attention to the breath. Ashley is a dedicated practioner and continues to evolve and transform through the art of personal practice. She brings a sweetness of nature and a wisdom of the yogic tradition that encourages her students to delve deep into their practice to promote self transformation. She currently teaches yoga therapy to addicts in recovery at an inpatient rehabilitation center in northern New Mexico.
Cypresse Emery C-IAYT, E-RYT 500
Cypresse has been teaching for 15 years. She has taught Vinyasa, Power, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Yin and Therapeutic Yoga to practitioners and teachers in Oregon, Nevada and New Mexico. As a Professional Yoga Therapist through Integrative Yoga Therapy, she has the opportunity to work with a great many special needs populations and see the healing art of Yoga at work. She is registered with the Yoga Alliance at the E-RYT500 level and has been an ambassador for Manduka, Jala and Lululemon. Cypresse is forever grateful for and offers all love to her many amazing teachers, mentors, students and community.
Anne Woods OTR/L, C-IAYT
Anne Woods is an occupational therapist and certified yoga therapist based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is in private practice as the owner of Arise Therapeutics LLC., which specializes in yoga therapeutics and CranioSacral Therapy. Anne went into private practice after years of working at local inpatient rehabilitation hospitals. She created Arise Therapeutics in direct response to conversations with patients and caregivers who wanted more education and instruction on moving better to manage their everyday lives and routines. Using personalized treatments rather than prescriptive protocols, Anne believes real change is possible through increased body awareness to address tension and compensatory patterns which often contribute to chronic pain issues. Her individualized approach to yoga, meditation, and physical rehabilitation fosters pure movement patterns so her clients can get out of pain and back into life. Anne holds a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and a Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of New Mexico. She is a Teaching Assistant with the Upledger Institute and a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists. Anne has had the honor of studying with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, Liz Koch, Gabrielle Roth, Susi Hately, Sean Tebor, and Richard Miller.
Darcy Cooke, PA-C, E-RYT 200
Darcy has worked as a Physician Assistant in surgery and oncology since 2003 and during that time has worked daily with patients undergoing treatment for cancer. Over that same time period, she continued a personal yoga practice, completed yoga teacher training, and began teaching yoga. Over time, her interest in addressing the physical and emotional needs of cancer patients, identified in her medical professional experience, with yoga teaching led to further training and certification with Tias and Surya Little and development of a yoga program for breast cancer survivors. With an experience and interest in providing safe and effective yoga programs for individuals treated for breast cancer and at risk for lymphedema, Darcy teaches ongoing yoga classes for survivors, as well as educational programs for medical professionals and yoga teachers.
